Three decades of learning
I’ve learned great many things over the many years I lived on this planet. Here are a few:
- I learned that most people are not that bright.
- Average is boring.
- To always be calm.
- Never curse in written or in person.
- One can save lots of time by just refraining from arguing with people that don’t matter.
- Don’t be late to meetings.
- Be respectful to everyone regardless of their appearance or occupation, with interaction some people will lose their initial level of respect and some will gain.
- Always smile.
- Say no, say no more than you think you should.
- Don’t be afraid to question authority.
- Status quo almost never should be preserved, everyone avoids change, but change leads to growth.
- Pain is the interpretation of the Brain from the signals received from sensory nerves. You can choose to ignore it. Most discomfort from feeling cold, pain in the feet caused by a long hike, or small scratch on the skin, they’re not life threatening, you will not gain anything by whining about them. Just keep calm and carry on, don’t pay attention to the discomfort.
- There’s no point getting mad at something you cannot control. If there’s a construction noise two building further, you cannot do much about it, just accept the noise, or put on noise cancelling headphones.
- Friend and family even though they love you, they probably don’t want you to change, and sometimes you need to change to become successful and the person you want to become. Find new friends or family.
- Learn to cook! Appreciate food. Discover other cuisines.
- Try new activities, go places, read different things, explore!
- Meditate.
