Recently I crave doing research and publishing papers. It’s a fun process, months of work, late night writing and coding sessions to make it to the deadline. The thrill of waiting for the notifications and the best part attending the conferences to present your work in exotic locations! Well since I’m not in the Uni. anymore doing this means I have to pay by myself for the registration fees and travel expenses, not sure if it’s worth it! Also these days with Covid-19 there are no longer in-person conferences, so that’s out of option. Anyway I would be even happy to publish result of my work on Arxiv. Or to the journals that are even more prestigious. And one of the most exciting parts of doing research is checking your Google Scholar page and counting the citations! Oh, and one annoying part is when you see new papers in your fields with worse results that you had a few years ago, or the same method you published a paper in the past, but they didn’t even bother to cite your work, the has given me an awful feeling numerous times. Do your literature review thoroughly folks, it’s important.
